This is a cross-play costume made for the London October expo, 2008, of Xemnas from Kingdom Hearts. This is not supposed to be him in drag! This is supposed to be him as a woman. It is based off his cloak design from the final boss battle and was a great pleasure to wear!
It took about four months to make, on and off, between I and the wonderful woman who was my former landlady. I wanted to make it so badly and if it wasn't for her, it just wouldn't be possible. Made with thick satin and lined. Every single stitch on this dress has been done by hand. I worship Sophia for her patience with this. The corset was so tight and uncomfortable, but damn it was worth it. Three hoops in the petticoat peice to make it POOOOF like I wanted it to. Despite it's size, it was easy to move around in this - I had white satin ballet slippers which were the most comfortable part of the whole thing. I had orange contact lenses and the makeup was done professionally, as I just can't apply it like that myself. We tried to replicate Xemnas's beautiful dark doe-eyes. That was my personal favourite part! Everyone in my Kingdom Hearts crossplay group was amazing too. And oh my! This cosplay was expensive! But be gentle - it's my first! |
